Our Story
I'm Erin, the founder of Lane Road.
Lane Road was created during a season of burnout.
After almost 20 years working in policing, much of it in high pressure and high adrenaline environments, I knew what it meant to keep going. To respond, to lead, to hold responsibility and to care for others, even when I was running on empty.
Eventually, the exhaustion caught up with me. Burnout changed the course of the career I had given so much of myself to. I tried to return and keep pushing through, but the same exhaustion set in.
When I look back now, one thing is very clear. I had spent years doing everything for everyone else. Work, family, colleagues, community, responsibility, pressure. I was constantly giving, but I was not creating space to properly care for myself.
I did not have the time, money or energy for big self care routines. I could not always get to a spa, a massage, a yoga class or a retreat. And when I was deeply exhausted, even doing something at home felt too hard.
There were times when the basics slipped. Washing my face , Having a shower all felt so hard. Simple things that should have felt easy no longer did.
So I started small.
Not with a complicated routine, but with tiny moments I could return to. Cleansing my face at night. Applying oil after a shower. Spraying a calming mist in the room. Taking a few deep breaths. A cup of tea in the sun. Creating a small moment at home that felt quiet, grounding and mine.
That is where Lane Road began.
Built around the belief that self care does not need to be expensive, complicated or out of reach. It can start at home. It can start with five minutes. It can start with one small ritual.
Each product is created to help turn ordinary routines into moments of calm, care and intention. A face cleanser at the end of the day. A mist after exercise or in the middle of a busy afternoon. A body oil after a shower. A room spray before taking a breath, an easy walk, a restorative soak in the bath or simply pausing for a moment.
Lane Road was created for people who do not have hours to spare. For the parents, shift workers, caregivers, business owners and busy people who spend so much of their lives caring for everyone else.
For the ones who feel tired, stretched, busy or disconnected from their own needs. For those who do not have the time or capacity for grand gestures of self care, but still deserve moments that feel beautiful and restorative.
My hope is that Lane Road becomes a gentle reminder to come back to yourself.
Lane Road is self care for real life.
Small rituals, created in Hawke’s Bay, to bring calm back into the everyday.
